01 Aluminum heat treatment furnace
THIS IS TAMAYAKIN'S LARGEST ALUMINUM HEAT TREATMENT FURNACE, KNOWN AS FAU2 (ALUMINUM NO. 2).
It's so big! It's the size of an aircraft engine!

Processing size to accommodate aviation engines
The working zone of TAMAYAKIN's aluminum heat treatment furnace No. 2 is 2400 mm x 2400 mm x 1400 mm high.
The maximum loading capacity is 1500 kg (including jigs). This is an extra-large size in the industry.
We can handle everything from large general parts to aerospace parts.

TAMAYAKIN's aluminum heat treatment furnaces are Nadcap certified! This means that the quality of aerospace and defense components processed by TAMAYAKIN is guaranteed by a third-party organization.
What is Nadcap certification?
Nadcap stands for National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program, a special process certification program for the international aerospace and defense industry administered by PRI, a non-profit organization in the United States. The program approves equipment, processes, and personnel to validate processes for product manufacturing and services. [Reference: Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (2015) "A Guide for Small and Medium Enterprises to Enter the Aerospace Industry - Obtaining the International Certification (Nadcap) Program.

Both water-cooling and air-cooling are possible
TAMAYAKIN's Aluminum Heat Treatment Furnace No. 2 is compatible with both water and air cooling methods.
The capacity of the aluminum furnace water tank is 40 tons, which allows for the solution treatment of large parts.
Solution annealing is a process in which an alloy is heated to a temperature in the 500°C range to uniformly incorporate additive elements into the structure, and then cooled rapidly to maintain this state. Solution cooling is basically performed with water, but air cooling is sometimes used because rapid water cooling may cause cracking or deformation of the product.
In addition, rapid cooling is the key to maintaining the microstructure in a uniform state during solution treatment. For this purpose, a sufficient amount of water-cooling equipment is indispensable.
TAMAYAKIN's aluminum furnaces can accommodate either cooling method, allowing us to process a wide range of products! (Spray hardening is also possible in our other furnace.)

Good temperature distribution
Temperature distribution inside the furnace is important for the quality of heat-treated products. Uneven temperatures in the furnace can cause product non-conformities such as lack of hardness, cracking, and deformation.
TAMAYAKIN'S ALUMINUM HEAT TREATMENT FURNACE NO. 2 IS MANAGED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AMS2750, AN AEROSPACE MATERIAL STANDARD.
THE SCOPE OF AMS2750 INCLUDES THERMOCOUPLES (TEMPERATURE SENSORS), INSTRUMENTS, HEAT TREATMENT EQUIPMENT, SAT (SYSTEM ACCURACY TEST), AND TUS (TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION MEASUREMENT IN FURNACES).
ALUMINUM HEAT TREATMENT FURNACE NO. 2 CONDUCTS SAT EVERY OTHER WEEK AND TUS ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS FOR HEAT TREATMENT EQUIPMENT, AND ALSO CONDUCTS MONTHLY CONFIRMATORY TESTS ON 6061 MATERIAL TO ENSURE THOROUGH EQUIPMENT CONTROL AND UNIFORM TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION.

Quenching delay time Minimum 10 sec.
Quenching delay time is the time it takes for heat-treated products to exit the furnace and enter the quench tank.
AMS2770, THE AEROSPACE MATERIAL STANDARD FOR ALUMINUM ALLOYS, SPECIFIES THE MAXIMUM DELAY TIME FOR QUENCHING DEPENDING ON THE THICKNESS OF THE PRODUCT, AND THE THINNER THE PRODUCT, THE MORE QUICKLY IT MUST BE COOLED. IF QUENCHING IS DELAYED, THE TEMPERATURE OF THE PRODUCT DROPS DURING THE TIME IT TAKES FOR THE PRODUCT TO ENTER THE WATER, RESULTING IN A LACK OF HARDNESS AND QUALITY NON-CONFORMANCE.
TAMAYAKIN's Aluminum Heat Treatment Furnace No. 2 has a quenching delay time of 10 seconds, making it possible to process thin products of 0.031 inch or 0.79 mm or thicker.
*Tamayakin's separate furnace [working zone: 800 x 800 x 500 mm high] allows quenching with a quenching delay time of 5 seconds.

Digital thermometer
The thermometer of TAMAYAKIN's aluminum heat treatment furnace No. 2 is a digital thermometer.
Furnace temperatures can be recorded in one-second increments, providing highly accurate process data.
Another of TAMAYAKIN's strengths is its ability to handle prototypes.

Processing of materials other than aluminum is also possible.
TAMAYAKIN'S ALUMINUM HEAT TREATMENT FURNACE NO. 2 CAN HEAT TREAT MATERIALS OTHER THAN ALUMINUM ALLOYS AS LONG AS THE HEATING TEMPERATURE DOES NOT EXCEED 600°C. IN THE PAST, WE HAVE EXPERIENCE IN PRECIPITATION HARDENING TREATMENT OF SUS MATERIALS (TO MEET AVIATION SPECIFICATIONS).
