THE TOKYO METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT IS ACCELERATING ITS EFFORTS TO ACHIEVE THE CARBON HALF, WHICH AIMS TO REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS BY 50% (COMPARED TO 2000 LEVELS) BY 2030, WITH THE GOAL OF ACHIEVING A ZERO-EMISSION TOKYO THAT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO VIRTUALLY ZERO CO2 EMISSIONS BY 2050.
SHINSUKE YAMADA, VICE PRESIDENT AND REPRESENTATIVE DIRECTOR OF TAMAYAKIN, WAS ONE OF THE PANELISTS WHO INTRODUCED ADVANCED EXAMPLES OF GX (GREEN TRANSFORMATION) IN JAPAN AND OVERSEAS AND THE STATUS OF GX INITIATIVES AT COMPANIES.
GX MEANS TRANSFORMING THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL SYSTEM THROUGH EFFORTS TO ACHIEVE A DECARBONIZED SOCIETY AND SUSTAINABLE GROWTH.
IN THE PANEL DISCUSSION, I SPOKE ABOUT CURRENT MANAGEMENT ISSUES AND THE DIRECTION OF SOLUTIONS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF ONE SMALL- AND MEDIUM-SIZED BUSINESS OWNER, AND ONE OF THE TOPICS I DISCUSSED WAS HOW TO PROMOTE CO2 REDUCTION AT FACTORIES THAT CONSUME LARGE AMOUNTS OF ELECTRICITY.
GOING FORWARD, TAMAYAKIN WILL CONTINUE TO COMMUNICATE ITS MANAGEMENT STANCE, INCLUDING GX, BOTH INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY, WITH THE AIM OF BECOMING A 100-YEAR COMPANY.
